Located in the northern part of Hillsborough County and fifteen miles from Tampa, Lutz is a small, upscale community with plenty for those who want a peaceful life. Lutz began its life as a depot for a railroad going through the area in the mid-20th century. As more and more people moved here from nearby Tampa, the need for the depot faded, and it was eventually demolished, but the beautiful community remained.

Nowadays, a replica of the train depot stands in the same place, and the historic Lutz post office, built as one of the first buildings in the area, serves as an art gallery.
